Sport Clusters and Community Resilience in the United States
Journal of Sport ManagementChangwook Kim, et al.
2021-05-19
How to enhance community resilience to natural disasters is a major question for researchers and policymakers. Although researchers agree that sport generates community benefits, few scholarly efforts in sport management have been invested in understanding the sport–resilience association. This paper attempted to address whether and how sport clusters—the clustering of sport industries—are associated with community resilience across locations.
Visualizing fairness: distributional equity of urban green spaces for marginalized groups
Journal of Environmental Planning and ManagementJin-Won Kim, et al.
2021-05-18
Previous environmental justice studies of urban green spaces (UGSs) have typically focused on issues of race/ethnicity or income level in Western countries and given limited attention to other dimensions of social disadvantage in Asian countries. To address this research gap, we examined distributional equity/inequity of UGSs among senior citizens living alone, single-mother families, individuals with disability, and basic livelihood security recipients in Seoul, South Korea.

Annals of Tourism ResearchEunjung Yang, et al.
2021-05-12
As damage from natural hazards is increasing, quantifying community resilience is a top priority in enhancing communities' ability to prepare for and recover from disasters. This study examines the significance of tourism in measuring community resilience by proposing a tourism community resilience measurement model.
Spatial Effect of Crime on Peer-to-Peer Lodging Performance
Journal of Travel ResearchYu-Hua Xu, et al.
2021-05-06
Safety is a major factor impacting consumers’ participation in peer-to-peer (P2P) economies. Using spatial econometric models, this study examined crime effects on the performance (RevPAR) of P2P lodgings at three spatial ranges: property, community, and destination level. The performance of P2P lodgings is negatively associated with crime densities, while the degree of the association varies by crime types and room types.
Spatial and experimental analysis of peer-to-peer accommodation consumption during COVID-19
Journal of Destination Marketing & ManagementSeongsoo Jang
2020-10-17
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted peer-to-peer (P2P) accommodation markets. However, how the interplay between tourists and destination attributes has affected P2P accommodation consumption during the pandemic has not been investigated. To address this gap, this study first explored the spatially varying relationship between destination attributes and COVID-19-disrupted Airbnb performance change across Florida counties.
