Biography

Carrie Stevenson has expertise in a variety of subjects pertaining to hurricane preparation, mitigation and recovery, and was among the editors of the revised Homeowner’s Handbook to Prepare for Natural Disasters. Her teaching efforts often focus on topics like hurricane-resilient tree selection, flooding, sea level rise, historical impacts from storms, the science of hurricanes and wind mitigation. Having lived in the Pensacola area since 1999, she’s also experienced a number of hurricanes and tropical storms first-hand.
