Frank Asche a natural resource economist with a research focus on seafood markets, production of seafood from fisheries and aquaculture and the sustainability of these production processes. He is a professor in the School of Forest, Fisheries and Geomatics Sciences in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.

However, to a large extent this is not reflected in our import statistics, as became clear in a recent House subcommittee hearing on a ban on Russian seafood set to take effect on June 23.
