Biography

Dr. Ian Driscoll is an associate professor of surgery and anesthesiology in the Division of Acute Care Surgery. His clinical focus is the care of the burn patient, performing critical care, acute surgery, and reconstruction. As director of the UF Health Shands Burn Center, he leads a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and medical trainees. He leverages his experience from the U.S. Army, where he completed surgical training, served as a burn trauma surgeon, and gained experience in casualty care during several combat deployments. His research investigates fluid resuscitation after burns, operating room blood transfusions, engineered skin substitutes, and immune-related skin disorders.
