Jason Butler's research group generates insights into the dynamics of complex fluids and soft matter systems through experiments, theoretical analysis, and simulation. The aims of the research include enabling the efficient control and processing of these materials which are used in a wide range of industries, products, and emerging technologies. Much of our work examines particle suspensions, and we also study the dynamics of macromolecules in microfluidic devices and develop useful technology based on our work.
