For more than 20 years, Francis Dalisay has conducted social scientific research in communication and media effects in the areas of community engagement, health and cancer prevention. His studies have focused on remote, rural and under-resourced communities, such as those in the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands. He has been devoted to developing communication solutions (e.g., culturally tailored video-based, school-based prevention curricula; digital interventions to enhance community engagement) aimed at improving the lives of the underserved. He currently uses community-based, participatory approaches.
